LES BANCELS CEVENOLS

The Cévennes bancels are earthworks located in the heart of the Cévennes National Park listed by UNESCO. Built and landscaped by generations of farmers, the work on these terraces was exhausting. It was a question of taming the sometimes steep slopes in order to be able to cultivate vines or olive trees before the 16th century and to cultivate chestnut and mulberry trees after this period.
