SAINT-LAURENT DE TRÉVES

Mostly known for its dinosaur footprints, "Grallator", the houses of the village are aligned on a rocky spur and dominate the Tarnon valley. The houses were built between the castle and the church. The latter was located on the "Castellas" on the site of the footprints.

Mostly known for its dinosaur footprints, "Grallator", the houses of the village are aligned on a rocky spur and dominate the Tarnon valley. The houses were built between the castle and the church. The latter was located on the "Castellas" on the site of the footprints. Mentioned from the beginning of the 12th century, it was attached to the barony of Florac. It was destroyed in the 17th century. Elements of the building were recovered and recycled in houses. Here and there in the village, there are signs that there was a castle: a lintel bears the coat of arms of the castle.

From the "Castellas", in addition to the footprints, there is a magnificent panorama over the Tarnon valley and the Causse Méjean. Several panels give information about the site.
