BUSTE DE L'ABBÉ LUCIEN OZIOL

In 1954, Abbé Lucien Oziol (1920-2004), curate in Marvejols and a specialist in children's work, attended a conference in Clermont on disabled children. He decided to take the plunge and create the first reception center for the disabled. He bought the Clos du Nid property, near Marvejols, and converted the barn and stables into accommodation.

The success of Le Clos du Nid was rapid, and numerous other centers were set up in the surrounding area, and even in other départements, such as Oise, Loire and Hérault.

By 1970, Le Clos du Nid had 600 employees, serving 700 disabled people.
