La Grande Garabagne offers an a cappella polyphonic singing workshop for choir and soloists, aimed at singers with some experience of choral singing.
Entitled O fly not love, this workshop explores a repertoire of love songs from the Renaissance to the present day, combining finesse, virtuosity and vocal expressivity. Participants will work on works by composers such as Morley, Portilla de la Luz, Wikander, Ligeti, Schubert, Wilson and Andersson.
Supervised by a team of professional musicians, trainees will focus on vocal technique, collective listening, rhythmic and harmonic work, and stylistic interpretation. The days will be organized around collective vocal warm-ups and several hours of rehearsals in desks, partial ensembles or tutti. Soloists will also benefit from individual vocal technique lessons and sessions with a vocal coach.
The course welcomes up to 34 choristers divided into two levels according to their vocal and musical experience, plus 6 soloists in the advanced level. An audition or recording can be requested at the time of registration.
