SPECTACLE : 4X4
Sylvie Balestra, a choreographer who combines anthropology and dance, has embarked on a long-term study of outdoor environments. She works with people to observe how our humanity pays attention to these spaces, where invisible relationships with the living are woven.
Sylvie Balestra, a choreographer who combines anthropology and dance, has embarked on a long-term study of outdoor environments.
She works with people to observe how our humanity pays attention to these spaces, where invisible relationships with the living are forged.
In 2024, during a first residency on the Causse Méjean, she met a guard-monitor from the Cévennes National Park, a sheep farmer, a donkey, dogs, vultures, lemon butterflies, sedimented rocks and spring adonis.
In 2025, she proposes a walk of shared attentions, punctuated by open-air dances and songs. 4×4 addresses ecological issues and interdependence. With 4×4, there's as much to perceive and feel as there is to see. Our outdoor dance and song team: Garance Bréhaudat, Maud Herrera, Katia Petrowick and Sylvie Balestra.
