Presentation: "A self-taught painter, trained by several teachers, I was born in Lozère, and so have been immersed in its landscapes and traditions since childhood.
Since retiring, I like to transpose them onto my canvases in oil, often with a knife.
I deploy a vibrant figurative style through colorful, deep landscapes, uncluttered, with character, deliberately leaving my canvases unfinished to invite the viewer?s imagination. I seek to move the viewer, to touch his or her intimacy with authenticity and sensitivity, according to my own feelings.
I love to paint, and to help people discover the hidden treasures of this department, which has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2011. The Causse Méjean, often called an "island in the middle of the sky" because it lies between the Gorges du Tarn and the Jonte, particularly appeals to me because of my family roots. Authentic and remarkable in more ways than one, it inspires in me a deep respect for our ancestors and present-day inhabitants.
Skies disturbed before a storm, pastoralism, architecture, the Gorges, water, but also mutual aid, the feeling of belonging to a territory?these are the things that motivate my thirst for painting the Lozère. Will you feel it when you look at my paintings?"
