EGLISE SAINT-GERVAIS SAINT-PROTAIS

12th century building, rebuilt in the late 15th century. It consists of a nave flanked by two aisles. Chapels dating from the 15th century open on these side aisles. On the first bay, the chapel on the south side is dedicated to Our Lady of All Power.

Langogne has a Romanesque church of the XIIth century built by the monks of Saint Chaffre. Dedicated to Saint Gervais and Saint Protais, it underwent numerous additions and reconstructions during the following centuries. At the end of the 15th century, it was given side chapels and a flamboyant gothic portal. Its bell tower and nave were rebuilt during the 19th century

The interior is decorated with paintings, statues and capitals with plant and historical motifs. The particularity of the building lies in its southern chapel which houses a Virgin registered as a Historic Monument, Our Lady of All Power. It is as original by its black color as by its history.

The church of Langogne is located in the heart of the city and is open to visitors free of charge throughout the year.
