EGLISE SAINT-BARTHÉLÉMY
The church of La Tieule was originally a simple rural chapel that an inscription dates back to 1654. In 1808, the new church of Sainte-Barthélémy was built. Its plan is a Latin cross with a single nave and two side chapels It still has a monumental altarpiece framing a large Crucifixion, as well as a beautiful 17th century Pietà.
Originally, the parish church of La Tieule, dedicated to Saint Barthélémy, was a simple rural chapel that an inscription dates from 1654. In 1808, due to the demographic and economic increase, the village was detached from the parish of Banassac and a new parish was created, which was accompanied by the construction of the church we see today.
It is composed of a single nave and two chapels near the choir. The apse is polygonal, vaulted with a pointed arch, and houses a monumental altarpiece in painted wood, composed of a central painting (a Crucifixion) of great size, framed by columns and statues. The whole is surmounted by an entablature
The main decoration consists of wooden altars for the chapels and statues, including a beautiful Pietà from the 17th century, registered as a Historic Monument.
