EGLISE DE LAUBERT

Built mainly of granite, it is well recognizable by its comb-shaped bell tower The interior has a very nice set of furniture: an atlantean supporting the pulpit, altarpieces as well as a Christ on the cross and a Virgin in gilded wood.

Originally, the village of Laubert did not have a church but a chapel, built in the 13th century by Betrand de Laubert (act of September 28, 1278). It was destroyed for an unknown reason in 1636 and rebuilt much later, in 1773

It was in the 1780s that the inhabitants of Laubert demanded that it be made a branch church, so that they could celebrate mass there and no longer have to travel to Allenc to attend, arguing that the snow was dangerous in winter

It is thus in 1802 that Laubert is detached from Allenc, and a new church is built in 1825, in a neo-roman style.
