EGLISE DE L'IMMACULÉE CONCEPTION
The church of Prades is located on the banks of the Tarn, in the village of the same name. It has a Latin cross plan with a single nave and two side chapels near the choir with a polygonal apse. The use of a limestone of small device for the whole building makes the whole aesthetic and neat It houses a painting representing a Crucifixion, which is of fairly good quality.
The church of Prades is located on the banks of the Tarn, in the village of the same name. It has a Latin cross plan with a single nave and two side chapels near the choir with a polygonal apse
The building is built of small limestone units, assembled in the same way on the apse's cul-de-four vault as on the nave's pointed arch vault. Thus the whole is aesthetically pleasing
The two arches of the side chapels are made of larger and lighter stones than the rest of the building, which gives a neat appearance.
The church also houses a painting of a Crucifixion, which is of fairly good quality
on a dark background reminiscent of a twilight sky, Christ on the cross is surrounded by the Virgin, Saint Magdalene and Saint John. The coat of arms at the bottom of the painting is probably that of the commissioner.
