CROIX EN PIERRE A LANUEJOLS
This stone cross stands at the entrance to the hamlet of Vitrolles. The shaft is mounted on a pedestal whose cut sides are decorated with Gothic mouldings. It could date from the 15th or 16th century.

The ends of the arms of the cross were decorated with fleurons. On either side are sculpted Christ on the cross and the Virgin and Child crowned by an angel. Below are truncated statuettes of two figures in adoration at the foot of the cross (St John and St Mary Magdalene)
This type of small calvary is more skilfully made than the other crosses in the area and is rare in Lozère; six were listed in 2004
The cross underwent an important restoration in 1996: replacement of the shaft, reconstitution of the missing parts of the legs of Christ and the two adorers
It has been listed as a Historic Monument since 1928.
