CROIX DU CHÂTEAU D'APCHER

This small village in the commune of Prunières is worth the detour and tourists are numerous in summer to walk through its narrow streets. It was the centre of the barony of Apcher when it occupied the North Gévaudan. The association "Les amis du site d'Apcher" has enhanced the site: the remains of the castle, a Romanesque chapel and a square tower.

This beautiful stone cross is carved directly into the granite. On its front side, one can see a Christ on the cross, a heart and the date 1754.
