MENHIR A MARVEJOLS

This stone was found and donated by the Rousset family of Valadou (a village near Marvejols) to commemorate the work of Doctor Barthélémy Prunières, a famous local archaeologist. Through his excavations he was able to demonstrate, among other things, that people who had been trepanned in prehistoric times had survived their operation.
