CAPITALE ANTIQUE DU GÉVAUDAN

A new look at archaeology that makes the invisible visible: the city is in the meadow, the remains laid out in the landscape.

The Triboulin valley was occupied in ancient times by a town of almost 40ha. Built shortly after the Roman conquest, it is the capital of the city of the Gabales. Built in the Roman style, criss-crossed by streets, it has a monumental centre consisting of a forum and shops, bordered by two thermal baths and a show building. Behind the current church (19th century), 4ha of public plots of land have been landscaped in order to measure both the location of these remains in the heart of the town but also to measure the trace of time and the reconquest of the countryside on the urban.
