LE COL DE LA CROIX DU FAU

The Col de la Croix du Fau culminates at an altitude of 1268m and is located a few kilometers from the village of Saint-Privat-du-Fau.

The addition of "du Fau" comes from the name of a tree, the beech, which is found in abundance in the area and which is called in local French, the "fayard" or the "fau" in Occitan. From Saint-Privat-du-Fau, there is a beautiful view of the Margeride, the Aubrac and the Saint-Flour area.
