In the heart of the Cévennes National Park, the Col du Sapet culminates at an altitude of 1080 metres.
Situated on the Mont du Bougès, the Col du Sapet is the ideal starting point for hikes to discover the magnificent landscapes of the Cévennes and the Mont Lozère.
For cyclists who wish to attempt the climb, the start is either from Pont-de-Montvert or Saint-Julien-d'Arpaon, for 450 metres of positive difference in altitude on both sides.
The pass is marked by a boundary marker. Boundaries which record the land development carried out on the territory since medieval times by the religious and military authorities.
