ARCS DE SAINT-PIERRE

The site of Les Arcs de Saint-Pierre is located at the south-western tip of the Causse Méjean, between the Tarn and Jonte valleys. It is

a ruiniform and chaotic landscape of natural vaults, prehistoric caves and dolomitic rocks.

The site is rich in flora and fauna due to the presence of dolomitic sands within a mosaic of dry grasslands, cliffs and dolomitic rocks. This dolomitic substratum allows the development of particular and determining species.

The Grey Fox, a remarkable southern bat, frequents the site of Les Arcs as much in open or semi-open environments as in the karstic environment.
