SENTIER DES GORGES DU TARN - DE FLORAC AU ROZIER
From its source on Mont Lozère at an altitude of 1,600 m to Florac, the Tarn looks like an impetuous torrent, but by the time it reaches Ispagnac it has slipped between the causses of Sauveterre and Méjean. It leaves us the legacy of a canyon carved out over millions of years.
For 65 kilometers, the Tarn Gorge meanders through cirques and chaos, dotted with typical villages.
From Florac to Le Rozier or vice versa, there's a left-bank path that follows the river (yellow and green markings). On foot, the pace is slow, giving you time to observe the landscape, stop off in the villages,
dream along the river, soak your feet in the sun
