LE BEST OFF DES GORGES, DIXIT TRAILEURS
"The Gorges du Tarn in all their splendour: a real treat for lovers of uneven terrain and technical courses!"
"The Gorges du Tarn in all their splendour: a real treat for lovers of uneven terrain and technical courses!"
The adventure begins with the ascent of Les Boissets, 400 meters of positive ascent in less than 3 kilometers, just to get you going. Then it's time for a rest, with a flat section on the Causse de Sauveterre. The charming hamlet of Nissoulogres marks the start of the fairly rolling descent to Blajoux. We skirt the banks of the Tarn for a while before starting a very dry climb up to the Causse Méjean. Once you've climbed 400 metres, you head straight back down, along a very steep, technical and slightly vertiginous path. This is the "descent of the monks", a name derived from the monoliths lining the path. A short stretch of road takes you to Castelbouc, where the final climb of the outing begins, more rolling than the previous two, but still demanding. At Chaldas, a pretty hamlet on the Causse Méjean, we branch off onto the GR which takes us back to Saint Enimie.
