LE PARC NATIONAL DES CÉVENNES
The Cévennes National Park is one of the ten national parks of France. This vast territory of medium mountains has been distinguished by Unesco.
From the granite highlands of Mont-Lozère to the majestic forests of the Aigoual, from the vast limestone plateaux of the Causse Méjean cut by the spectacular gorges of the Tarn and Jonte to the sharp crests and deep valleys of the schistose Cévennes, there are many opportunities to marvel at the sumptuous landscapes of the Cévennes National Park, shaped by man over thousands of years!
The richness of the fauna and flora, the diversity of the natural environments and the abundance of springs contribute to the exceptional character of this protected natural area, recognised as a National Park, designated as a Biosphere Reserve and in the heart of the Causses and Cévennes, living cultural landscapes of Mediterranean agropastoralism inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
