Its altitude varies between 970 and 1,503 m. The forest shelters in its heart the old monastic and Cistercian abbey of Mercoire, converted into a farm.
The forest of Mercoire, was in the 18th century, the place where many people were victims of the Beast of Gévaudan (1764 to 1767).
You will be able to practise various activities such as hiking (passage of the GR70, GR470, PR), horse riding, mountain biking (FCC mountain bike area of Gévaudan)...
