DOMAINE DU CHÂTEAU DE ROURE
The Chassezac valley, a schistus valley with striking relief, has always influenced the settlement of Man on its banks. The Château du Roure is located on the heights, in a fold of the land allowing shelter from the winds and cold, but occupies a strategic position there.
The Chassezac valley, a schistus valley with striking relief, has always influenced the settlement of Man on its banks. The Château du Roure is located on the heights, in a fold of the land allowing shelter from the winds and cold, but occupies a strategic position there.
Today the Château is surrounded by dense woods and cultivated fields. The site is divided into different parts. A road crosses the site, in its northern part. On either side are cultivated plots of land, allowing a clear view towards the second part of the site: the castle building and its immediate surroundings.
From the castle of Roure, the view is clear over the steep valley and the village in the distance: La Garde-Guérin.
