LAC DE PUYLAURENT

Lake Puylaurent is part of a complex for hydroelectric production at the EDF plant in Pied-de-Borne.

Lake Puylaurent is part of a complex for hydroelectric production at the EDF plant in Pied-de-Borne. A grouping of several lakes: the lakes of Villefort du Rachas, Roujanel and Puylaurent, located respectively on the Altier, Chassezac and Borne rivers. They have the particularity of presenting, except in case of flooding upstream, very limpid waters which blend very well with the colours of the schist of these valleys. Access to the banks is often difficult and perilous due to the steepness of the slope, the strong instability of the banks and the distance of the access roads (Roujanel). Classified in first category, they all shelter fario and rainbow trout, minnows and chub.
