LAC DE BORN

Perched at an altitude of 1,260 metres, Lac de Born is one of the plateau's four glacial jewels. With an impressive surface area of 151 hectares and a depth of up to 15 meters, it boasts a fragile ecosystem of wetlands and peat bogs.

This site offers an emblematic panorama of wild Aubrac, but its exceptional biodiversity demands caution: its marshy surroundings are as fascinating as they are delicate. It's a must-see on the "route des lacs" for observing local flora and fauna in an unspoilt setting.
