📍 Monts-de-Randon
TRUC DE FORTUNIO
The Truc de Fortunio is the highest point of the Margeride at 1552 meters above sea level.
Situated at the southern end of the Margeride ridges, in the commune of Rieutort de Randon, it dominates the Plateau du Roy and the Lac de Charpal.
It is a real observatory in the form of a granite chaos where the view extends over all the surrounding peaks of the Cévennes, Aubrac, Monts du Cantal, Monts Dore and even the Alps.
Orientation tables give you plenty of time to orient yourself and understand the landscape.
The coniferous forest and surrounding peat bogs cover the Plateau du Roy
It's a landscape with the allure of the far north or Canada.
