The St. Laurent de Trier site is actually located on what is called a witness mound. During the Jurassic period the limestones of the causse were formed, and during the Upper Jurassic the dolomitic limestones were deposited. During this same period, between -190 MA and -140 MA, many reptiles left their footprints, including dinosaurs.
As far as the site of St. Lawrence is concerned, traces of Grallator have been found. The Grallator is an ancestor of the tyrannosaurus, which will appear more than 100,000 years later. The Grallator has 3 toes on each hind limb and walks upright on its hind legs.
