PYRAMIDE EN PORTE-A-FAUX

The "Pyramid in False Door" is still called "Rock of the Tile" by the ancients, or "Rom of Tiougue" in patois. The rock formation is composed of a large rock of massive shape, about 3m high by 4m wide, on which are arranged other rocks of more modest size.

Eroded over millions of years, the Margeride mountain leaves its granite base exposed in places, piercing the meadows and crowning the summits with large rounded blocks. The boulders isolated by erosion and as laid on the ground are called "tors".

The most spectacular of this formation are the 2 highest rocks: they appear face to face and in a precarious equilibrium position.
