PANORAMA DU CHASSEZAC

The Chassezac runs through very deep granite gorges beneath the medieval village of La Garde-Guérin. The setting is extremely wild (no village and no visible roads) and is worth a visit on its own.

With a canyon of more than 7 km and a difference in height of 400 m at the Belvedere of the Guérin Guard, the Chassezac is characterized by its uneven relief which for a long time gave the gorges the name "l'antre du Diable" (the Devil's lair).
