TOUR DE BODON

The Tour de Baudon is an old tower built in the 13th century separating the southern and eastern ramparts of the city. In addition to its medieval architecture, its interest lies in the view it gives on the roofs of the city and its surroundings Today it houses, among other things, a tourist information office.

This old tower, built in the 13th century, was the junction between the southern and eastern ramparts of the medieval town of Malzieu. Together with the city walls, it ensured the defence of the city against the bands of brigands who ravaged the country.

A staircase of a hundred steps allows the visitor to climb to the top where a superb 360° panorama awaits him. The view, over the rooftops and the surrounding area, perfectly completes the historical tour of the village.

Remarkably restored by the commune of Malzieu-Ville, it now houses a tourist information office, the exhibition hall of the parapet walk and the headquarters of the Intercommunal Tourist Office Margeride en Gévaudan.
