MAISON FORTE DE BAHOURS
To complete the defence of the episcopal city, the fortified house of Bahours was built to the north-west
It is a massive, square construction with a central stone staircase. It dates from the beginning of the 17th century.
It was built by Melchior Roux de Pomeirols, receiver of the diocese's carvings, whose coat of arms appears inside the castle
Fortified without authorization from the canons, he had to demolish "the turrets, the loopholes, the gunboats and the two dungeons".
The castle was listed as a Historic Monument in 1995
It is a private property.
