In 1800, a district court was established in Marvejols. Its first location (rue Carnot) was quickly judged too small, and in 1837 it was decided to build a new one in place du Soubeyran, inaugurated in 1846. In 1856, a second storey was added and the facade lost its original fluted Doric columns.
First Instance Court from 1930 to 1958, and First Instance Court from 1958 to 2008, the number of cases was so great that the Marvejols Court became the place to be. It was here that the famous trial of Pierrounet, the bonesetter and child of Aubrac, took place in 1905.
The Marvejols Tribunal d'Instance was abolished when the judicial map was reformed in 2008.
Restored in 2020 by the Département de la Lozère, the building now houses the Office de Tourisme du Commerce et de la Culture Gévaudan Destination.
