ANCIEN CHATEAU ABBATIAL
"In 1180, mention of a donation from the village of Naussac to the Cistercians of Les Chambons. The castle is mentioned in 1661 and depends on the abbey lot of the commendatory abbot of Les Chambons. The remains include a stair tower enclosed in a farmhouse and the ground floor of a house.
The stair tower has a circular plan and spans three levels, one of which is the attic. The tower serves as a shaft for a spiral staircase with a core. The stairs are uncluttered. The entrance to the ground floor is through a door framed by two jambs formed by four chamfered blocks. It is surmounted by a monolithic moulded lintel with a slightly segmental arch braid. A drip moulding with a torus and braid takes up the curvature of the lintel.
Above, a gable in tiers-point resumes the moulding of the preceding elements. The three upper bays take up the Renaissance canons.
The work preserves elements of defence (archers, remains of bretèche".
